Besides the one episode I recapped for TVgasm, I didn’t watch a single minute of American Idol this year. In fact, the last season I paid any attention to was season 4 when Carrie won, and the last time I voted or really got into it was season 2 (I was all about Trenyce and switched allegiances to Clay once she was eliminated). That being said, I stumbled across a David Cook track while browsing through iTunes a few weeks ago and instantly fell in love. It’s from Mariah Carey week, and is a cover of “Always Be My Baby.” I’ve never been a huge fan of the original (although “Someday” is one of my favorite, all-time songs), but the way David sings this honestly gives me shivers.
