As mentioned by Mary in the comments in the first post on this topic, Meredith Vierra interviewed John Rendall and Ace Bourke on the Today Show this morning. Video’s after the jump (interview starts about two minutes in, after the Christian video is replayed).
Rumors have been circulating lately that J.T. Torregiani, 33, a nightclub owner and partner in The Dolce Group along with Mike “Boogie” Malin (from Big Brother 2 and Big Brother All Stars) may well be our next Bachelor. Torregiani, who recently split from Paula Abdul, was evidently approached by producers a few years ago, but turned the opportunity down due to his relationship with Abdul. Now single, there’s speculation that Torregiani just may take the producers up on their offer.
As any Battlestar Galactica fan knows, a prequel series called Caprica will begin airing late this year/early next year (depending on whether it’s picked up as a series) on Sci Fi Channel. While the loss of BSG in early ‘09 will devastate me, I have high hopes that Caprica will be a worthy successor of my love.
So one of my friends just sent me an email with a YouTube link and this short message: “This made me cry, I am a total loser”
Scoffing already, I clicked on the link and watched the video. And was tearing up two minutes later. Okay, I bawled. Goddammit.
As the yapping estrogen bags on “The View” state, this is evidently a true story. Barbara says the names of the two men are John Rendall and Ace Berg, and Wikipedia says it’s actually John Rendall and Anthony ‘Ace’ Bourke. Between those two think tanks, who knows which one is right.
What I do know is I half-expected one of them to get his face ripped off. Don’t tell me you weren’t thinking the same thing. The guy taping this must have known this was either going to land John and Ace on the talk show circuit or the Darwin Awards list. But alas, it turns out that Christian the Lion is just a big pussy (cat).
Also, MSNBC has an article posted about the origins and background of this video. It’s mostly the same information as provided in the video itself, with a few extra nuggets such as John and Ace stayed up all night partying with Christian before they parted ways forever.
Joss Whedon, the genius behind such shows as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, “Angel”, and “Firefly” has proven yet again that he truly has a unique voice and vision among TV’s elite with his three-part online miniseries “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.”
The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences released the nominees for the 2008 Emmy awards! There’s a lot here to be excited about, but some very big disappointments. On the actor front, Battlestar Galactica’s Mary McDonnell and Friday Night Lights’ Kyle Chandler didn’t receive nods after being named finalists in their categories. I’m also sad to see John Krasinksi and Jenna Fischer from The Office didn’t make the cut. For the best series awards, Friday Night Lights and The Wire didn’t receive best drama nominations after making the finalist list. Oh and not to mention Emmy’s stubborn insistence on Boston Legal and Two and a Half Men love! WTF.
That being said, this is a history-making year with the nods to FX’s Damages and AMC’s Mad Men, and a surprising shut-out of HBO for best drama. Which of the nominations deserve the honor? Which ones are you calling bs on?
So The Hollywood Reporter is, well, reporting that Brooke Burns (formerly host of “Dog Eat Dog”) is set to host “Hole in the Wall’ on Fox this upcoming season. This will be yet another remake of a Japanese game show, but unlike the current abysmal “Wipeout” and decent “I Survived a Japanese Game Show!”, I’m really excited for “Hole.” Why, you ask? Have you ever seen the human tetris videos on Youtube? I swear I could watch these a million times and always find it funny:
Hopefully Fox doesn’t screw up a simple yet hilarious concept. If they do it right, this will definitely become a guilty pleasure!
